Wes and Kolby Pool Time
Liam attacking with his water gun!
Greg and Brianna pool time.
Brianna playing in Clear LakeThe 4th of July weekend 2009 was no let down this year! While it went by in a flash Wes, Kolby, and I had a great time. The 3 of us left Jefferson City on Thursday the 2nd to drive into Kansas City. We had dinner with Mom and Dad and then the boys came back and took a late night swim while I, the big ol' preggo went to bed. The morning of the 3rd Mom and I went and got pedicures while Wes, Kolby, and Dad swam until lunch time, got something to eat, then it was off to Mike and Jenn's so that we could caravan up to the airport to get Greg, Erin, Liam, and Brianna.
It was so good to see Greg and his family. Liam was adorable when he saw his Poppi Boyd. He started walking as fast as he could with arms wide open until he could give his Poppi a hug. Too cute. Brianna had just woken up and was in "shy" mode. That didn't last too terribly long. :)

We stopped at Steak and Shake got a quick bite to eat and then it was on to Iowa.
We caravaned in 4 cars up to Iowa. The Weider-mobile had Wes, myself, Kolby, and Liam. For the first 2 hours of driving Kolby and Liam played on the DS and DSi. (Sorry, Erin, Kolby may have created a monster!)
Eventually, (around 1:30 a.m.) we made it to our hotel in Mason City. It felt so good to crawl in bed even though we knew we were only going to get a few precious hours of sleep.
On the morning of the 4th the family met at the Senior Center for breakfast, the parade, and lunch. Kolby, Liam, and Ella did a great job hollering for candy and came out with quite the loot. Following lunch Aunt Sue hosted a baby shower for Jaxon and myself. It was too fun...I'll blog about it later. Finally we headed to Phil and Vickies lake home. There were 31 people I believe in attendance this year...Wow! We spent time talking while the kids played, ate dinner, and then it was time for fireworks. As always, Uncle Phil pulled through and took a large group of us out to watch the fireworks over the lake. I am 28 years old and still find it an amazing production to watch.
On the 5th the whole family met at PM Park to play and have lunch then headed back to Phil and Vickie's. Right before we were going to leave all the boys went tubing out on the lake. From the stories I was told Kolby did awesome... a little "hot-doggin" here and there. I was also informed that the big boys (Greg and Wes) may have attempted too much and felt the pain that evening and next day. Boys...we're not in our 20's any more. :)

On the 6th the whole family went and had professional pictures taken for Mom and Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary. Following picutres we returned home for some pool time and then hit the hay. Early Tuesday morning the Weider clan headed back to Jefferson City.
What a fun time. I can hardly wait until next year when Jaxon will get to experience his very first 4th of July in Iowa.
