Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving day was very enjoyable this year. While we missed having Brenda, Wayne, and Irene in KC, we were able to have Jim and Debbie Grotewiel (Jennifer's parents). The morning started out with breakfast and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Around noon Phil, Vicki, Meredith, and Scott joined the festivities. The Cronin gang has joined us for Thanksgiving for many years...I believe it has been about 15 years! They arrived with the peanut butter and celery so we could really get the holiday started on the right foot. Around 1 the newly weds arrived and shortly after them the Grotewiel's showed up. Soon we were enjoying turkey, stuffing, and all the other goodies that Mom prepared. (Thanks Mom!) There were a lot of wonderful conversations and good laughs shared.
Later on that evening we all loaded up in cars and headed to the plaza for the lighting ceremony. The guest of honor that was to throw the switch this year was David Cook from American Idol. We watched the plaza lights come on and then spent time at Mike and Jenn's home. Jenn made three desserts, yum! Thanksgiving is always such a special time to me. It starts the holiday season in such a special way. I couldn't imagine it being any different.

Here is the fireworks display and a quick 360 of the plaza this holiday season.
