New Years day Jaxon turned 4 months old. Due to the holiday his 4 month wellness was not until this past Wednesday, Jan. 6th. I have no days left to take off of work, so Wes took him. We had many questions for the doctor and Wes did a good job asking them and relaying the info to me.
We asked about Jaxon's ears, because Wes had tubes when he was little. Dr. Rogers said that the right ear had some fluid on it, but looked okay.
We asked about letting Jaxon cry himself to sleep at this age. Dr. Rogers informed us that it is just fine. The longer we wait the harder the process is for the child.
We wanted to know if we were introducing solid food the correct way. The Doctor said to increase the amount of cereal and to continue doing one to two bites of veggies per night with breastmilk still being the major source of Jaxon's diet.
Here are Jaxon's new measurements:
Length: 26.5 inches
Weight: 16 lbs. 13 oz.
Head Circ: 43.8 cm
Wes couldn't remember the exact percentiles, but knew that all of them were over the 80th percentile. I believe he said that weight and height were in the 90th percentile. The doctor stated that we had a big boy on our hands. :)
Jaxon recieved a new toy this week. He is now the proud owner of a jumperoo. He LOVES to get in it and move his little legs and play with the toys. He is also doing a great job of reaching out for objects and grasping them when he wants something. When on his tummy, Jaxon is able hold his head up very high and look around. Every once in a while he can get his arms just right and prop himself up. He has discovered that sucking his thumb helps to soothe/comfort. At night he will suck his thumb until almost asleep and then pull it out. When it is time for him to eat, he will also suck his thumb until he recieves a bottle, cereal, or Mom.
